Book Review ~ Eternal Bloom by Kenitra Jordan

Raised to honor her vows, "till death do you part, in good times and bad times," Aiyana Adams tries to be the perfect life compliment to her husband: prominent attorney Kalb Adams. But the facade of a perfect life, is soon shattered when Aiyana learns the sinister truth about her husband...now, how will she get out? How will she keep her children? How will she survive the adversity thrown at her, and still manage to pull her children and herself out of the fire?

My Two Cents

As a domestic violence survivor I applaud all works of art that bring this issue to market. Kenitra Jordan spun a heart wrenching tale of the cycles of abuse, and how hard they are to break. This book evoked very strong emotions in me. I hated Kalb's mother and felt almost no sympathy for him even though I understood his motivations. My heart wept for Aiyana although I was frustrated by her circumstances. The author painted such vivid pictures that I often had to walk away from the book. All is all it was a very powerful read and I highly recommend it.
