BOOK DRAMA ~ AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT ~ SH'MOORE

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

My first love was poetry. However, after a painful experience with love I took to writing as therapy. My mother would read each chapter and wait impatiently for the next. Then she pushed me to publish because she thought the voice needed to be heard. The responses I received from readers fueled the passion...and here we are now.

How long does it take you to write a book?
I think that I am one of the few who it takes a while to move through a piece of writing. I have to be inspired to write novels. Short stories may take me a couple of days to write and  revise, but novels can take me anywhere from 6 months to a year to be comfortable with the order and development.

What is your work schedule like when you're writing?

I do wear many hats, so my schedule is extremely activity filled when I am working through any project. With family, day job, and business-ownership I find myself only being able to write in a peaceful environment very late at night or in the wee hours of the morning. When I can get some time alone, I capitalize on it and put in the work in spurts. I however and whenever a moment is free.

What is your latest release and what's next?

My latest release (A Journey: Discovering Me, My Self-Worth, and I Love It!)
actually is a workbook that I use with my non-profit organization. It focuses on building self-efficacy and takes them on a journey of meaningful self discovery.
NEXT: I am working through the final scenes of the sequel to my first novel. Destruction After Deliverance is coming SOON!
